Info
Julian Marley brings his roots reggae to Limelight in Belfast on 29 July 2026. Born in London and raised between the UK and Kingston, the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist writes music grounded in spirituality and social themes, blending a classic roots foundation with touches of dub, dancehall and soul. His catalogue runs from Lion in the Morning (1996) and A Time and Place (2003) to Awake (2009), then As I Am (2019) and Colors of Royal (2023), created with producer Antaeus and awarded the Grammy for Best Reggae Album.
On stage, Marley leans into slow-burn grooves, prominent bass lines and close vocal harmonies that follow Jamaican roots codes while keeping a contemporary edge. The set links early cuts to recent material, opening space for dub-tinged passages and instrumental breaks. Backed by his live band, he moves between vocals, guitar and keys, keeping the focus on message-led songwriting and a steady pulse built for collective sway.
