Cirque du Soleil - OVO

Cirque du Soleil sets its universe down in Décines-Charpieu with OVO on 20 January 2027 at the LDLC Arena. Founded in Quebec in 1984, the company shaped an animal-free circus in which acrobatics, visual theatre and music move forward together. With OVO, it dives into a world of constantly moving insects, between molts, races and collective rituals. The scenography evokes an organic microcosm traversed by an enigmatic egg, while the costumes transform the performers into beetles, spiders, ants and butterflies with striking, graphic silhouettes.

On stage, the acrobatic choreography plays on speed and precision: sequences of jumps, aerial acts, balancing, contortion and ensemble numbers that reconstruct the bustle of a colony. The music, a blend of percussion, electronic textures and vocal melodies, serves the wordless narrative and paces the tableaux, from a soft, muted buzzing to sudden bursts of energy. Between strongly drawn imagery and meticulously measured physical performance, OVO unfolds a simple, readable fable about vitality and metamorphosis, true to Cirque du Soleil’s signature, giving clear prominence to gesture, sound and light.
