Author & Punisher is a one-man band led by Tristan Shone. Using custom-fabricated machines, controllers, and speakers called Drone Machines, the music draws on industrial automation, robotics, and mechanical tools and devices, focusing on the eroticism of the interaction with the machine.
In 2024, Author & Punisher celebrated two decades honing his craft, inventing, machining, experimenting, and creating custom musical instruments for his recordings and live performances, touring with artists like Tool, Health, Perturbator, and Neurosis. In 2025, he will release his eighth full-length album on Relapse Records, with a focus on live performance. Author & Punisher performs at Strange Brew on 24 June 2026 at 6:00 pm.
