On 6 November 2026, Garage Nation lands at Melkweg in Amsterdam with Artful Dodger, the name that helped shape the UK garage sound at the end of the 1990s. Originating in Southampton as the producer duo Mark Hill and Pete Devereux, Artful Dodger built its reputation on 2-step tracks that fuse house influences, syncopated rhythms and R&B hooks. Singles featuring voices such as Craig David, Romina Johnson, Robbie Craig, Lifford and Melanie Blatt — think Re-Rewind, Movin’ Too Fast, Woman Trouble and Please Don’t Turn Me On — pulled the genre out of the underground and led to the album It’s All About the Stragglers (2000).

Since 2001 the name has continued on stage in a DJ-and-MC lineup with MC Alistair and DJ Dave Low, maintaining the connection to the British club scene.
