DJ Luck & MC Neat

Active since the late 1990s in London, DJ Luck & MC Neat bring together Joel Samuels and Michael Rose around a sound positioned between UK garage, 2-step and British house, with a central emphasis on syncopated rhythms, smooth basslines and MC Neat's flow. The duo emerged in the context of London clubs and pirate radios, then established themselves at the turn of the 2000s with a series of singles that carried the garage aesthetic well beyond its original scene, notably 'A Little Bit of Luck' in 1999, 'Masterblaster 2000' in 2000 with JJ, 'Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us' in 2000 and 'Piano Loco' in 2001. Their journey then blends club formats, reinterpretations of covers and tracks more directly tailored for dancing, while staying linked to the energy of live MC and the soundsystem culture. DJ Luck & MC Neat published the albums A Little Bit of Luck in 2001 and It’s All Good in 2002, as well as several compilations and mix projects at the same time. Subsequently, the duo also appears under the name Luck & Neat, continuing live activity and more occasional releases, in a continuity faithful to the codes of London UK garage.
