Info
Grime punk band Riskee & The Ridicule return with their album Platinum Statue. They will perform at Brudenell Social Club on 2 October 2026 at 6:30 pm. For more than a decade, the band has released music with a history of focused attacks on world politics, yet this time they look more inwardly. Concentrating on the broad influences that each of the five members (Scott Picking - vocals, Jimbo Aglony - guitar and vocals, Jordan Mann - guitar and vocals, Ben Maz - bass, Matt Verrell - drums, keys and vocals) bring to the band, they allow these to breathe and lend to an album shaped by collaboration.
By letting their individual inputs guide the music, Platinum Statue tackles mental health, how to cope, and the UK music scene. The first single was "My Name". "How I Feel" is about carrying on a party after it has stopped and the anxieties that come with the hangover of a good time. "Giving Up" addresses moments of hopelessness and depression. The record features intricate guitars, breakdowns, tight rhythm sections, punk energy, hooks and sharp vocals.
Having released the albums Dawn of the Dog, Blame Culture and Body Bag Your Scene, and touring across the UK, Europe and America, the band brings that experience to Platinum Statue.
