Beverley Knight

Beverley Knight takes over Bristol Beacon on 19 June 2026. From Wolverhampton roots and a Pentecostal church upbringing, she forged a sound where classic soul, contemporary R&B and gospel meet. Since her debut The B-Funk (1995) and the breakthrough Prodigal Sista (1998), she’s traced a steady path through Who I Am (2002) and Affirmation (2004), widening her palette without losing the heart of her voice. The following years added Music City Soul, 100%, the British soul homage Soul UK, Soulsville and, most recently, The Fifth Chapter (2023).

On stage, Knight moves easily between groove-led cuts and slow-burning ballads, drawing on that catalogue and years of live experience, from arena slots opening for Take That and Prince to leading roles in the West End (The Bodyguard, Memphis, Cats, The Drifters Girl, Sylvia, Sister Act). At Bristol Beacon, she channels church-honed phrasing and modern R&B bite into a set that revisits key tracks and newer material, guided by melody, rhythm and presence.
