Info
On 18 June 2026 at Guildhall Square, Southampton, The Beach Boys share the bill with 10cc for an evening that croises two distinct visions of classic pop songwriting.
The Beach Boys bring their California blend of close harmonies, surf‑tinged rock and melodic pop, built since 1961 around the Wilson brothers, Mike Love and Al Jardine. On stage the group moves from early snapshots of beaches, cars and teenage life to the more crafted pages of Pet Sounds and the Smile/Smiley Smile era, then into the 70s with Sunflower and Surf’s Up. The set leans on tight vocal arrangements, warm guitars and relaxed grooves, with melodies that balance lightness and introspection.
10cc open a different window on 70s pop: witty, studio‑minded songs that slip between art‑rock turns, ballads and sharp storytelling. Formed in Stockport in 1972 by Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, the band shaped albums from 10cc and Sheet Music to The Original Soundtrack, How Dare You! and Deceptive Bends. Today, Gouldman leads a renewed line‑up that revisits this catalogue with layered vocals, neat rhythms and a taste for offbeat structures.
