Info
Weatherday lands at The Cluny, Newcastle upon Tyne, on 29 May 2026 for a set shaped by Hornet Disaster, the new chapter from Swedish songwriter and producer Sputnik. Born in the DIY online sphere, Weatherday threads noise-pop, emo and shoegaze with a bedroom sensibility: stacked guitars, saturated textures, abrupt turns and a voice often run through filters. On stage, that language flips between urgency and intimacy, stretching songs into shifting forms without losing their hooks.
Hornet Disaster follows the cult debut Come in and the collaborative Weatherglow, and sketches a buzzing world of sharp melodies and messy beauty. Angel snaps into a springy emo rush; Heartbeats leans into sleek, downtempo contours; Ripped Apart By Hands pulls toward folktronica; Pulka opens a window to Swedish winter; Green Tea Seaweed Sea hints at unexpected timbres. It’s a record built from excess ideas pared into a tight narrative, and the live show channels that same restless energy — hectic, playful, and precise where it counts.
Weatherday doesn’t tidy the edges; that’s the point. Between noise swells and fragile lines, the project finds a direct, unguarded pulse that carries old tracks and new material alike.
