Aldous Harding

Aldous Harding brings her shape-shifting folk and intimate pop to Arena Wien in Vienna on 23 June 2026. From Lyttelton on New Zealand’s South Island, the singer and songwriter has built a body of work that keeps the essentials in focus: spare guitars, quiet keys, and melodies that twist rather than soar. After an eponymous debut in 2014, she joined 4AD and recorded Party (2017) with John Parish, widening her palette with soft keyboards, discreet arrangements and bolder shifts in voice. Designer (2019) and Warm Chris (2022) moved further toward chamber-pop while holding onto a folk backbone and elliptical, carefully pared-back lyrics.

On stage, Harding adjusts posture and tone with a lightly theatrical touch, sliding from near-whisper to bright, offbeat phrasing. She plays solo or with a small band, alternating guitar and piano, and leaving space for silence and restraint. In Vienna, expect a set that threads early acoustic pieces with the sinuous tunes of her recent records, tracing a clear line through the last decade of writing without losing the minimalist tension that defines her music.
