Info

Madsen bring their new album Smile to an intimate live set and signing on 10 June 2026 at Rough Trade Berlin, Berlin. The Wendland quartet built around the Madsen brothers and bassist Niko Maurer has been shaping German indie rock for over two decades, with songs in German that cut straight to everyday life, relationships and small‑town youth. Smile marks their tenth studio album and opens a new chapter with direct guitars, melodic hooks and a dose of optimism that runs through the tracklist.

On stage, the band leans into the energy that first grew out of their punk and hardcore roots, switching between brisk anthems and quieter moments without losing focus. Across nine previous albums, from the self‑titled debut to Hollywood, they’ve refined a sound that stays immediate while flirting with pop structures. That balance, tested in clubs and at festivals like Rock am Ring, Hurricane or Southside, is what they’ll bring to this release show: close‑up, no frills, and built for the room. A chance to hear the new songs live, get a record signed, and catch Madsen in the setting where their music hits hardest.
