Info
Belgian-Cameroonian singer, songwriter and kora player Lubiana draws a clear line between pop, soul and African traditions. Trained in jazz singing and classical music at the Leuven Conservatory, she has shaped a distinctive musical language in which the kora carries both melody and rhythm, like a thread connecting roots and modernity. Inspired by Lauryn Hill, Lianne La Havas, Toumani Diabaté and Gaël Faye, she blends songs in French and English, balancing airy tenderness with organic pulses. On stage her voice settles close to the strings; ancestral melodies converse with contemporary textures, and the whole takes on an intimate tone without losing the breadth of the groove. Her travels—from Cameroon to Gambia and through London and Los Angeles—feed a repertoire that speaks of movement, cultural mixing and connection. Discover her on May 12, 2026 at the Minotaure in Vendôme for a live show where the kora becomes the beating heart of a pared-down, warm set, between luminous ballads and earthy rhythms.
