Info
Modest Mouse plays the Orpheum in Vancouver on July 4, 2026. Formed in Washington in 1993, the band built a singular place in indie rock with jagged guitars, elastic rhythms and Isaac Brock’s distinctive delivery. Early milestones like This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About and The Lonesome Crowded West set the blueprint, then The Moon & Antarctica pushed the scope. Good News for People Who Love Bad News brought Float On to a wider audience, followed by We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank and a run of EPs that kept their sound in motion.
On stage, Modest Mouse plays with contrasts: taut grooves that unravel into chant‑along hooks, quiet sketches that thicken into percussive, layered jams. The set typically pulls from across decades, balancing cornerstones from the 90s and 2000s with later cuts like Dashboard, and leaving space for detours and stretched‑out builds. The band’s mix of grit, melody and restless energy gives their live show a raw edge, with arrangements that shift from night to night while staying close to the core of their sound.
