Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill will play AFAS Live in Amsterdam on 17 June 2026. The iconic trio from South Gate, Los Angeles, has, since the late 1980s, combined B‑Real’s nasal, high‑pitched flow with Sen Dog’s dark, staccato interjections and DJ Muggs’ cinematic productions. Live, that sound is augmented by percussionist Eric Bobo, who gives the slow, heavy grooves and psychedelic samples extra depth. Their early records, from the self‑titled debut to Black Sunday and Temples of Boom, carry a distinct signature: languid drums, fat basses, a smoky haze in the imagination, and an English‑Spanish mix that reflects their Chicano roots. From the late 1990s they began adding rock and metal riffs to their set without losing their laid‑back swing. Expect a show that smoothly shifts between classics and later crossover tracks, with tight call‑and‑response, sinister melodies and that unmistakable West Coast vibe.
