Blaudzun

Blaudzun, the project of Arnhem singer-songwriter Johannes Sigmond, plays at Musis Arnhem on 1 May 2026. His indie-rock and folk, with a poppy, orchestral touch, moves smoothly from small, brooding songs to broadly developed arrangements. Since the self-titled debut (2008) and Seadrift Soundmachine (2010) he has built a distinctive signature that became more melodic and layered through Heavy Flowers (2012) and Promises of No Man’s Land (2014). With the two-part Jupiter (2016/2017) the rhythm was pushed more to the fore; UP (2018) and π (2022) continued that trajectory, leaving room for strings, brass and pulsing grooves.

On stage Blaudzun usually appears with an expanded band that converts the studio layers into a direct, driven set. His recognisable, dark voice carries both quiet passages and sharp climaxes, while guitars, keys and percussion give the songs their contours. Live, the breadth of his repertoire is presented in Arnhem, from intimate to powerful.
