Marlon Williams

On 20 April 2026 Marlon Williams will perform at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The New Zealand singer-songwriter (Kāi Tahu, Ngāi Tai) moves between folk, country and modern pop, driven by a distinctive timbre and a refined vibrato. After his early years with The Unfaithful Ways and the duo with Delaney Davidson he released three solo albums: Marlon Williams (2015), Make Way For Love (2018) and My Boy (2022). In 2024 he issued Te Whare Tīwekaweka, his first record entirely in te reo Māori, adding a new chapter to his repertoire.

Live, it’s all about the song and the voice: spare ballads, crooner-like melodies and newer material that extends further rhythmically and harmonically. Sometimes alone with a guitar, sometimes with a band, he pays attention to dynamics, space and the stories between the songs. Williams has shared the stage with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Florence + The Machine, Courtney Barnett and Lorde; in Amsterdam he will present the different facets of his songwriting, from intimate love songs to pieces in Māori.
