Info
Pink Martini bring their globe-trotting songbook to the Orpheum in Vancouver on June 26, 2026. Formed in Portland in the 90s, the collective gathers around a dozen players and a lead voice, mixing jazz phrasing, Latin pulses and a retro pop sensibility. Their first album, Sympathique (1997), put “Je ne veux pas travailler” on everyone’s lips, and they took their time to follow it with Hang On Little Tomato, then kept opening doors with releases like Get Happy in 2013, inviting guests along the way.
On stage, the band moves easily between languages and rhythms, shifting from uptempo numbers to softer ballads. The set usually spans albums and periods, balancing familiar titles with songs that underline their taste for travel and storytelling. It’s a chance to hear that blend in a live room, with arrangements shaped for the ensemble and a fluid, unshowy groove that lets the melodies lead. Whether you came for Sympathique or found them later, expect a wide-angled tour through their catalogue, true to the group’s multilingual, border-hopping approach.
