Jens Lekman - Songs for other people’s weddings-Tour 2026

Jens Lekman is coming to Cologne with his Songs for Other People's Weddings tour in 2026. On 9 March 2026 he will play at Gebäude 9 songs that combine intimate everyday observations, orchestral colours and sampling. The Gothenburg-rooted songwriter has positioned his field since the early 2000s between indie pop, chamber pop and pared-down folk: from When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog (2004) through Night Falls Over Kortedala (2007) and I Know What Love Isn’t (2012) to Life Will See You Now (2017), which carries disco, soul and ’80s pop influences.

On stage Lekman delivers his stories directly and intimately, shifting between guitar, band arrangements and intricate loops. The wedding concept of this tour provides the throughline: songs about encounters, small scenes and shared moments, sometimes quiet, sometimes danceable. He draws on older material as well as newer songs, gently reworking them without losing sight of the texts’ core. A focused set that supports the melodies while leaving space for storytelling.
