Autechre

Autechre arrive at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes on 15 October 2026. Originating in Rochdale near Manchester, the duo formed by Sean Booth and Rob Brown established themselves in the early 1990s on Warp Records with a distinctive vision of electronica and experimental techno. Incunabula (1993) and Amber (1994) set out a vocabulary of ambient textures, repetitive rhythmic motifs and fragmented melodies. Tri Repetae (1995) and Chiastic Slide (1997) harden the framework, moving toward mechanical structures and more industrial timbres. LP5 (1998) and Confield (2001) push deconstruction further, between unstable rhythms and micro-variations, before Draft 7.30 (2003) and Untilted (2005) with their angular contours. From Quaristice (2008) onward the form stretches and modulates, continued by Oversteps (2010), Exai (2013) and then the series elseq 1–5 (2016) and NTS Sessions 1–4 (2018). With SIGN and PLUS, released in 2020, Autechre tighten the frame, balancing harmonic pads and complex percussive sequences.
