Bonnie Raitt brings her signature slide guitar and a voice rooted in the blues to Massey Hall in Toronto on August 15, 2026. Singer, songwriter and guitarist, she came up in Cambridge clubs at the turn of the 1970s after discovering the blues during her Harvard/Radcliffe years, folding folk influences into a blend of rock, country and rhythm and blues. Her self-titled 1971 debut set the tone, followed by Give It Up, Takin’ My Time and Sweet Forgiveness, which established a steady touring life and a taste for collaboration.
In the late 1980s she teamed with producer Don Was for Nick of Time, then deepened that mature, soulful approach with Luck of the Draw and Longing in Their Hearts. The thread runs through Fundamental, Silver Lining, Slipstream, Dig In Deep and Just Like That… in 2022, anchored by an immediately identifiable slide sound and an ear for strong songwriting, originals and covers alike. On tour, Raitt often pairs the music with community outreach and advocacy. Expect a set that moves easily between blues, rock, folk and Americana, carried by songs that have travelled across decades.
