Info

Beirut, the project led by American Zach Condon, returns in 2025 with its seventh album A Study Of Losses. The band will stop in Paris on June 30, 2026 at Salle Pleyel to present these new indie-folk compositions in which brass, keyboards and strings answer one another with restraint.

Originally conceived for a show by the Swedish circus Kompani Giraff, inspired by a novel by Judith Schalansky, the album explores the notion of loss in all its forms. Immersed in choral music, Renaissance music and other early repertoires, Zach Condon blended songs and instrumental themes, extending some pieces to accompany the stage. He entrusted arrangements to cellist Clarice Jensen, recorded with a string quartet. Several tracks bear the names of the lunar seas, echoing a story of archives and a memory that fades. In the end, 18 tracks in a spacious, orchestral format, crafted for the stage and Beirut’s singular world.
