Info

Les Amazones d’Afrique will perform at Altigone in Saint-Orens-de-Gameville on 22 May 2026. Founded in 2014 at the initiative of Malians Mamani Keita, Oumou Sangaré and Mariam Doumbia of the duo Amadou & Mariam, this Pan‑African collective brings women artists together around a common aim: defending the rights of women and girls through music. The name pays tribute to the continent’s warrior women and to the group Les Amazones de Guinée. Since its inception, the project has welcomed voices from various African countries and the diaspora, circulating languages, vocal tones and stories. The group’s music blends traditional repertoires with contemporary sounds—between pop, electronic, hip‑hop and touches of trap—featuring prominent vocal harmonies and percussive rhythms. After two albums, the collective continues its journey with Musow Danse, produced by Jacknife Lee. On stage, depending on the tour, Mamani Keita, Fafa Ruffino, Kandy Guira, Alvie Bitemo or Adeola Soyemi take the vocals, supported by Franck Baya on drums and Nadjib Ben Bella on turntables. The live show evokes an urban, connected and multifaceted Africa, carried by voices that unite and grooves that move forward.
