Info
On 27 May 2026 at the Barbican Centre, London, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith presents a set that bridges new material with pivotal pieces from across her catalogue. Moving between modular electronics, contemporary composition and immersive sound design, she shapes a setting tuned for intensity, scale and close listening. The evening traces the evolution of her language while leaning into the more rhythm-focused direction she has been exploring in recent years.
She is joined by the London Contemporary Orchestra conducted by Robert Ames, opening her textures to orchestral colour and detail. Together they revisit and reframe earlier work while unveiling fresh pieces, letting synth timbres, voice and ensemble writing intersect. Over the past decade Smith has collaborated with Patti Smith, Four Tet and Danny Elfman; here that network of influences feeds a live conversation between pattern, pulse and space, where electronic motion and acoustic resonance meet on their own terms.
