Info
Formed in Bailiff Bridge, West Yorkshire, in the early 1990s, Embrace came together around brothers Danny and Richard McNamara with Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale. Emerging alongside the late-90s britpop and indie wave, they shaped a melodic, guitar-driven rock coloured by keyboards and taut, expressive vocals. Early singles All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family led to debut album The Good Will Out in 1998, followed by Drawn from Memory (2000) and If You’ve Never Been (2001), where the writing turned more restrained and introspective. Out of Nothing arrived in 2004, featuring Gravity, written by Chris Martin, then This New Day in 2006. After a pause, the band returned with Embrace (2014), Love Is a Basic Need (2018) and How to Be a Person Like Other People (2022), refining a sound that leans toward more spacious arrangements without losing its melodic core.
Embrace play NX Newcastle on 12 November 2026. On stage, they tend to roam across their catalogue: early singles, measured mid-period cuts and recent tracks that open up the textures. Guitars rise and ease off, keys carry the contours, and the vocals keep a clear line through it all. Plus support.
