Matthew Good and I Mother Earth share the stage on May 30, 2026 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa. A fixture of Canadian alternative rock since the 90s, Matthew Good first broke through with the Matthew Good Band before carving a solo path where guitars and lyrics set the tone. Formed in Toronto around brothers Jagori and Christian Tanna, I Mother Earth brings a percussive, groove-forward take on alternative rock. Dig and Scenery and Fish set the blueprint: heavy riffs, psych-tinged textures and stretches that flirt with prog. The lineup shifts around singers Edwin and Brian Byrne brought different colors over time, from funk-inflected momentum to darker, more experimental edges, but the backbone stays the same: layered percussion, guitars in stereo and long, elastic jams that keep the energy moving.
