Info
Alan Doyle brings the salt air of Newfoundland to the Orpheum in Vancouver on March 26, 2026. The former Great Big Sea frontman leads a band that folds Atlantic folk colours into steady, guitar-driven rock. On stage he mixes acoustic ballads with driving reels and contemporary folk songs, drawing from Boy on Bridge, So Let’s Go, A Week at the Warehouse and recent EPs, with room for traditional tunes from the East Coast songbook. Doyle’s voice and guitar sit at the centre, while fiddle and percussion carry the arrangements with a maritime pulse.
The East Pointers appear as special guests, a Prince Edward Island trio whose fiddle, banjo and guitar weave between Celtic roots and modern folk pop. Their set shifts from brisk instrumentals to vocal numbers shaped by coastal storytelling, bringing reels and jigs into clean, contemporary textures. Since reshaping the lineup, they tour with close collaborators who keep the interplay tight, setting the tone for Doyle’s set.
