Info
Chris de Burgh will be at Massey Hall in Toronto on March 11, 2026. Born in Argentina to British parents and raised between several countries before settling in Ireland, the singer-songwriter built a long-running path in pop rock and soft rock with a clear taste for storytelling. His early records Far Beyond These Castle Walls and Spanish Train and Other Stories set the tone in the mid‑70s, mixing ballads, narrative songs and folk touches carried by a distinctive voice.
Through the 80s, albums like The Getaway and Man on the Line widened his audience, followed by Into the Light and its standout track The Lady in Red, now central in his repertoire. The following decades saw him continue to write and record with Flying Colours, Power of Ten, Quiet Revolution, The Storyman and, more recently, The Legend of Robin Hood, keeping a focus on melody and narrative craft.
On stage, Chris de Burgh moves easily between electric arrangements and more intimate moments. This date at Massey Hall is a chance to hear songs from across a catalogue that spans romantic ballads and character-driven tales, shaped by five decades of writing and touring across Europe and beyond.
