Mery Spolsky

Born in Warsaw in 1993 under the name Maria Żak, Mery Spolsky has since the mid-2010s developed a project situated between pop, synthpop, rock and electronic music, with Polish-language lyrics that blend everyday observation, humor and a more introspective tension. Trained in violin and after beginnings in the psychedelic Makijaż and then in the pop duo Różowe Okulary, she launched her solo career in 2014 and drew attention on the Polish scene through several festivals and competitions before publishing her first album Miło było pana poznać in 2017. This record lays the foundations of a nerveful and colorful aesthetic, based on pop choruses, synthetic textures and a very direct vocal presence. Mery Spolsky continued with Dekalog Spolsky in 2019, then Erotik Era in 2023, expanding her range toward a more frontal electronic pop, sometimes threaded with new wave or pop rock accents. Over the years, Mery Spolsky has also appeared in collaborations with Kayah, Kuba Karaś, Julia Wieniawa or Arek Kłusowski, while moving between major festival stages, more alternative formats and media-related projects. This trajectory makes Mery Spolsky an artist established in the current Polish landscape, at the crossroads of pop song, light experimentation and live performance.
