Daily J

Born in the Marlborough region of New Zealand, Daily J brings together brothers Jayden, Jonny and Jesse Paul with Rick in a lineup that moves between indie pop, light rock and airy electronic textures. Daily J emerged in the late 2010s with a repertoire where dreamy melodies, supple bass lines and often sunlit atmospheres meet more introspective songwriting. After a first EP, the band quickly refined its identity with tracks like “Left Me Like Summer” and “Skylah,” then developed it further on Venus Ate Mars in 2020. Daily J continued along this path with the Slush Honey diptych, released between 2022 and 2023, before broadening their palette on Scatterbrains in 2024 — an album darker in hue and tighter in production. Having played New Zealand stages and toured Australia, the UK, Europe and Canada, Daily J also shifted its centre of gravity to Sydney at the end of 2025, while remaining connected to the Australasian scene. Their music consistently blends indie guitar, atmospheric pop and electronic touches without abandoning a direct, accessible song format.
