midwxst

Born in Columbia, South Carolina and based in Indianapolis, Indiana, midwxst, real name Edgar Nathaniel Sarratt III, began to attract attention around 2020 in the SoundCloud ecosystem and the first wave of digicore. His writing crosses rap, hyperpop, emo rap, trap and rage, with short, nervous tracks, often packed with saturated melodies and rapid key changes. After early tracks released under the name $uspect, midwxst followed up with projects in the early 2020s including Secrets (2020), Summer03 (2021), Back in Action (2021), Better Luck Next Time (2022), and Back In Action 3.0 (2022). The track Trying, released in 2020, accompanied this rise in visibility as he circulated in North American hyperpop and internet rap scenes. Midwxst is also linked to the Novagang collective, then to the Helix Tears group, illuminating a trajectory built online as well as on stage. In 2022, he went on tour with glaive, then broadened his range with tracks where pop singing takes more space without leaving the rap base. This evolution is reflected on E3, his first album released in 2023, followed by the Back In Action 4.0 mixtape in 2024 and the Archangel album in 2025.
