Pity Party (Girls Club)

Behind Pity Party (Girls Club) is Julian Isaac A., a musician and singer-songwriter from the Inland Empire in Southern California. Launched in 2014 while he was still in high school, the project grew out of a DIY aesthetic that blends indie rock, bedroom pop, lo-fi and dream pop, featuring short, melodic tracks often tinged with melancholy. Early Pity Party (Girls Club) EPs — including Tired, Healing Process and I’m Sorry I’m Like This — circulated his name across the online-born indie scene thanks to direct songwriting, hushed guitars and spare arrangements. After several years on hiatus, Julian Isaac A. revived Pity Party (Girls Club) with the 2022 album Hard Times / Bad Trips, where the intimate approach of the early work opens up to a broader production while maintaining that mix of pop fragility, emo tension and American indie rock. Essentially a solo project, Pity Party (Girls Club) since then has moved between domestic confession and songcraft, in a restrained and immediately recognizable register.
