Boyscott

Born out of the DIY scene in Nashville, Tennessee, Boyscott coalesced in the mid-2010s around songwriter and guitarist Scott Hermo—first as a project recorded between dorm rooms and makeshift studios, then as a fluid ensemble bringing together friends who are musicians. Rooted in indie rock and bedroom pop, Boyscott blends surf-tinged melodic guitars, supple rhythms, and slightly hushed vocals, with a taste for dense arrangements and subtle dynamic shifts. The release of Goose Bumps in 2015 marked an initial milestone: the record gradually circulated through independent networks and led Boyscott to tour across North America, from mid-sized venues to DIY spaces. Over the years, the band has refined a writing style built on interwoven guitar figures, prominent basslines, and occasionally winding song structures, while maintaining an intimate approach to recording. In 2023, The Float affirmed this trajectory, with songs in which Boyscott explores more sharply contrasted moods—oscillating between luminous pop, more contemplative passages, and light psychedelic touches—while remaining rooted in an American indie rock aesthetic.
