femtanyl

Based in Toronto, femtanyl operates within an electronic scene where digital hardcore, breakcore and industrial influences intersect. Early tracks led to a distribution agreement with release.global, followed by a first EP, Chaser, self-released in August 2023 with a physical edition issued by the label Kitty on Fire. femtanyl’s music combines fragmented rhythms, abrasive textures and pop-leaning choruses, drawing inspiration as much from groups like Nine Inch Nails, Throbbing Gristle, The Prodigy or Drain Gang as from contemporary club music. From 2024, the onstage collaboration with drummer Juno Callender gave the concerts a more physical, percussive dimension, before Callender officially joined femtanyl in 2025 and the project became a duo. A second EP, Reactor, was released in November 2024 and includes a contribution from American rapper Danny Brown, with whom femtanyl later collaborated on the album Stardust and toured alongside Underscores. femtanyl’s first album, Man Bites Dog, was released in February 2026 as a self-release, consolidating a very dense sonic aesthetic, accompanied by a visual universe centered on the feline mascot Token, often depicted mutilated or distorted.
