Sunken

Formed in Denmark in 2012, Sunken develops atmospheric black metal nourished by melancholy, slowness and ethereal textures, with a writing that also makes room for doom and post-metal accents. The band initially appears with the EP The Crackling of Embers in 2013, before broadening its range with Departure in 2017, a debut album where the compositions gain in amplitude and density. Sunken continues this trajectory with Livslede in 2020, a record focused on dark and introspective moods, then with LYKKE in 2025, released on Eisenwald Records. In this sequence of releases, Sunken refines a language made of layered guitars, stretched rhythms, harsh voices and emotional build-ups that prioritize diffuse tension over immediate impact. Active on the European scene, Sunken sits on a branch of extreme metal where atmosphere, darkness and contemplative dimension occupy a central place, while maintaining a direct and tight approach to composition.
