Pain Magazine

Under the name Pain Magazine, members of Birds in Row, a post‑hardcore band from Laval, France, join forces with the techno duo Louisahhh & Maelstrom, active between Paris and Nantes. Born from an unprepared studio session, the project took shape around the track Violent God, which establishes Pain Magazine’s aesthetic by juxtaposing saturated guitars, metronomic electronic rhythms and screamed vocals. Pain Magazine’s music moves between punk, hardcore and industrial techno, with songwriting built on repetition, rhythmic intensity and a constant play on tension rather than melodic contrast. On stage, Pain Magazine operates as a hybrid group: Birds in Row’s guitar‑bass‑drums trio merges with Louisahhh & Maelstrom’s programming and electronic textures, allowing the project to appear equally in rock venues and clubs oriented toward electronic music. Still limited to a few released tracks, Pain Magazine is gradually developing a repertoire that extends this encounter between DIY punk culture, French post‑hardcore heritage and techno with industrial overtones.
