Witch Fever
Formed in Manchester in 2017, Witch Fever operates at the crossroads of doom punk, post-punk, grunge and a deliberately heavy, tense alternative rock. The quartet, made up of women and non-binary people, built itself on the UK scene with music driven by massive riffs, a dry rhythm section and vocals that shift from punk urgency to darker registers. Witch Fever’s lyrics frequently tackle organised religion, the patriarchy and misogyny, connected to singer Amy Walpole’s upbringing in a charismatic church. After several singles, the band released the EP Reincarnate in 2021 and their debut album Congregation in 2022, which established a raw, nervous and tension-charged sound. With Fevereaten in 2025, Witch Fever broadened its palette by incorporating metal, gothic, ambient and hardcore shades, adding more atmospheric tracks while retaining the abrasive energy of their early work. The band has toured the UK and Europe and has opened for acts such as Poppy and Volbeat.
