THUMPER
Based in Dublin, THUMPER formed around the songs of Oisín Leahy Furlong before taking the shape of a six-piece band in 2019. The project evolves at a crossroads of psych rock, noise pop and guitar rock, with a dense, nervy and melodic sound where intertwined guitars, taut rhythms and often angular choruses mingle. In the recent Irish rock landscape, THUMPER has developed through the live scene and festivals, with appearances notably at Reading and Leeds, Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Haldern Pop or VESTROCK, which accompanied its rise in visibility outside Ireland. A first EP, Out of Body Auto-Message, released in 2019, lays the foundations for this direct, sometimes abrasive writing, threaded with a psychedelic sensibility and a taste for structures that bifurcate. In 2022, THUMPER released its first album, Delusions of Grandeur, where the band further broadens its spectrum between alternative rock, noise tension and more offbeat detours. The collective dynamic remains central in THUMPER, with several guitars and a frontal approach to the ensemble playing, which gives its tracks a compact energy without locking them into a single format.
