illuminati hotties

illuminati hotties is an indie rock project led by musician and producer Sarah Tudzin in Los Angeles. It emerged in the mid‑2010s as a space for personal songwriting before evolving into a full band on stage. Influenced by punk, power pop and an emo‑adjacent sensibility, illuminati hotties alternates between fast, fragmented songs, sparser ballads and noisy passages, with a pronounced taste for dynamic shifts and lyrics that are at once ironic and introspective. The debut album, Kiss Yr Frenemies, was released in 2018 and established the project on the American independent circuit, followed in 2019 by the EP I Wanna Keep Your Dog. In 2020 the mixtape FREE I.H: This Is Not the One You’ve Been Waiting For marked a transitional, more abrasive and experimental period, before a return to pop‑oriented songwriting on Let Me Do One More in 2021, still under the illuminati hotties name. The 2024 album Power continues this exploration of a sound often described as tenderpunk, blending direct riffs, highly intelligible melodic structures and detailed production. Alongside illuminati hotties, Sarah Tudzin works as a recording engineer and producer for other artists, which informs the careful attention to textures, backing vocals and contrasts in her own studio and live recordings.
