Fortuna Ehrenfeld

Born in Cologne, Fortuna Ehrenfeld has grown since 2016 around Martin Bechler, a musician, composer and songwriter who writes the project's lyrics and music and carries out much of the studio work in collaboration with producer René Tinner. On stage Fortuna Ehrenfeld usually appears as a trio, with a lineup that has evolved over the years around Bechler, notably featuring Jenny Thiele on keyboards and vocals and Jannis Bentler on drums. The band belongs to German-language independent pop with flexible contours—somewhere between indie pop, chanson and arrangements for keyboards, guitar and drums—with songwriting given a central role. After Das Ende der Coolness, Vol. 2 in 2016, Fortuna Ehrenfeld released Hey Sexy in 2017, then Helm ab zum Gebet and Debout pour ma prière in 2019, the latter in French. These were followed by Die Rückkehr zur Normalität in 2021, Das letzte Kommando – Live in der Kölner Philharmonie and Solo in 2022, Glitzerschwein in 2023, and then Solo live and Universum in 2024. Fortuna Ehrenfeld’s trajectory also includes tours in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France, as well as appearances on the indie scene associated with the label Grand Hotel van Cleef.
