Alin Coen

Born in Hamburg in 1982, singer‑songwriter Alin Coen is part of the German indie folk and pop scene, with a repertoire split between German and English. After studying environmental sciences in Weimar, she formed the Alin Coen Band in 2007, a quartet that developed a spare sound with arrangements centered on voice, guitar and piano, and a songwriting style that is intimate and narrative. The first album, “Wer bist du?” (2010), established this blend of folk ballads and understated pop songs, while “We’re Not the Ones We Thought We Were” (2013) deepened the group interplay and choral dynamics. Continuing to perform both with the full band and as a solo artist, Alin Coen released “Nah” in 2020, an album marked by more pared‑down orchestration and a stronger emphasis on the German language. On stage she alternates between solo concerts and tours with the Alin Coen Band across the German‑speaking region, and occasionally collaborates with other musicians from the indie and singer‑songwriter scenes.
