Dimitri K.

Under the name Dimitri K, Demis Dimitris Kanakis has been developing from the Netherlands a project rooted in uptempo hardcore within the European hard dance scene. Emerging in the late 2010s, Dimitri K gradually found his place in a very fast and direct register, built around chopped kicks, sharp textures and short build‑ups designed for immediate impact. His aesthetic notably relies on heavily sliced kick sounds, sometimes combined with sawing kicks, which have become a recurring hallmark of his productions. Dimitri K’s trajectory is part of the rise of uptempo in the 2020s, spanning solo releases, collaborations with other producers in the circuit and regular appearances on the line‑ups of festivals and nights dedicated to the harder forms of hardcore. Behind the decks as well as in the studio, Dimitri K favors a dense, sparsely melodic and strongly rhythmic writing, in a format conceived for large dancefloors and the audiences of the contemporary hardcore scene.
