Omah Lay

Born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Omah Lay, whose real name is Omah Stanley Didia, crafts songs that sit between afrobeats, R&B and afro-fusion, often built on relaxed rhythms, sung melodies and an introspective tone. After an early rap project under the name Lil Street King, he shifted toward songwriting and production before launching his solo career in 2019 with “Do Not Disturb” and “Hello Brother.” His rise accelerated in 2020 with the EP Get Layd — notably “Bad Influence” and “You” — and with What Have We Done the same year, which includes “Godly.” He quickly broadened his audience through collaborations with Olamide on “Infinity,” Gyakie on the remix of “Forever,” and Justin Bieber on “Attention” in 2022. That year he released his debut album, Boy Alone, followed by a deluxe edition in 2023. Since then he has continued releasing singles and touring North America and Europe, while maintaining a musical direction focused on fluid choruses, a soft vocal delivery and a tight blend of contemporary African pop and R&B.
