NiteFreak

From Zimbabwe, NiteFreak has built a self-taught career as a DJ and producer since 2009. He began in house and gradually moved toward a more pronounced afro house and afro progressive house direction. His aesthetic rests on African rhythms, a progressive, club-oriented structure and broad melodies that edge his tracks toward melodic house while retaining the percussive anchor of afro house. Over the years NiteFreak’s music has circulated through international electronic and underground scenes via releases notably on Deep Root Records and Spinnin’ Records. Collaborations with Francis Mercier, Magic System, BLOND:ISH and Amadou & Mariam place him within a network of productions where house, African pop and dancefloor-oriented formats intersect. His evolution shows a synthesis of DJ energy, producer songwriting and the pursuit of an immediately recognizable sound, giving him an increasingly clear place in contemporary afro house.
