Gaëlle Buswel

Based in the French blues rock landscape since the early 2010s, Gaëlle Buswel is originally from Alfortville and develops a writing that blends blues, folk and rock with a strong anchoring in the American sounds of the 1970s. After having played for several years with the group Cam On and living in England, Gaëlle Buswel launched her solo career in 2010, following her meeting with guitarist Neal Black, who contributed to her first album Yesterday’s Shadow in 2011. She continued with Black to Blue in 2014, then New Day’s Waiting in 2017, recorded between France and Austin, in a register where electric guitar, acoustic textures and a husky voice intersect without tipping into pastiche. Over the years Gaëlle Buswel has moved between clubs, blues festivals and rock stages, in France as well as internationally, with appearances at the Festival d’été de Québec, Cognac Blues Passions, the Sierre Blues Festival, in Japan and the United States. She also supported several acts, notably Matthieu Chedid, Jonny Lang, Beth Hart, Ringo Starr and ZZ Top. In 2021 Gaëlle Buswel released Your Journey, recorded between Belgium and London, where her approach broadens toward a more produced blues rock, ahead of Live at Abbey Road Studios in 2023. In 2025 Gaëlle Buswel also appears alongside Patrick Rondat on the track Now We’re Home.
