Rockwell

Active on the UK drum & bass scene, Rockwell — born Thomas Green — has been developing a detailed, experimental approach to the genre from London since the late 2000s. He came to prominence with a string of maxis on labels such as Darkestral, Critical Music, Metalheadz, Neosignal and later Shogun Audio, where tracks like "Underpass", "Detroit", "Childhood Memories" and "Please Please Please (Play This On The Radio)" established his signature: fragmented rhythms, precise textures and influences drawn from techno, footwork and hip‑hop. In 2015 Rockwell released his debut album Obsolete Medium on Shogun Audio, a project that condenses this formal research into a drum & bass that is both dense and highly structured. Alongside his work as a producer and DJ on European stages, he has presented shows on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra in the In New DJs We Trust and Residency slots, broadening his reach beyond the club circuit. He later founded his own label, Obsolete Medium, conceived as a more autonomous space for his releases, on which the EP Chorus of Disapproval appeared, continuing his exploration of a contemporary, angular drum & bass strongly defined by rhythmic detail.
