Toma Kami

Producer and DJ based in Paris, Toma Kami has developed since the second half of the 2010s a distinctive approach to club music, blending deconstructed techno, bass music and dancehall influences. Active both in the studio and behind the decks, he founded the label MAN BAND, which became the main outlet for his releases and an aesthetic focused on short club formats that are rhythmically dense and driven by pronounced basslines. His productions are characterized by a strong emphasis on syncopation, tempo breaks and repeated percussive motifs, often drawing on sound system culture while remaining rooted in the European electronic scene. Alongside MAN BAND, Toma Kami released the EP “Sharp Tool In The Shed” on Livity Sound in 2019, an important marker of his position within a continuum between techno, UK bass and hybrid experimentation. Regularly appearing on club and festival stages across Europe, he develops his sets and discography around the same principle: a tension between rhythmic minimalism, direct energy and deliberately disorienting sonic constructions.
