Big D and the Kids Table

Formed in Boston in 1995 by musicians who attended Berklee College of Music, Big D and the Kids Table established itself in the American ska-punk scene with a sound that mixes horns, punk energy, reggae and dub, occasionally leaning toward hardcore or more languid rhythms. From the start they were very active in the East Coast DIY circuit, building their reputation through live shows, touring and regular releases on their own label, Fork in Hand Records. After Good Luck (1999), the band sharpened its songwriting on The Gipsy Hill (2002), How It Goes (2004) and Strictly Rude (2007), before broadening its palette with Fluent in Stroll (2009) and For the Damned, the Dumb & the Delirious (2011). In 2013 they released the two-part Stomp and Stroll, which well summarize their dual approach between upfront ska-punk and looser reggae/dub atmospheres. Despite numerous lineup changes around singer David McWane, the band has remained active on punk, ska and Warped Tour stages, and recorded splits with acts such as Melt-Banana and Brain Failure. Big D and the Kids Table returned to the studio with Do Your Art in 2021.
