Wednesday 13
Under the name Wednesday 13, American musician Joseph Poole, from Lexington, North Carolina, has been cultivating since the 1990s a world that blends horror punk, heavy metal, and glam influences. Initially active in underground outfits such as Maniac Spider Trash and later Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, Wednesday 13 came to prominence in the early 2000s as the singer of Murderdolls alongside Joey Jordison, before launching his solo project, which gradually became the focal point of his career. Wednesday 13’s repertoire revolves around references to horror cinema, goth culture, and B movies, with songs built on straightforward riffs, catchy choruses, and deliberately macabre imagery. His debut solo album, "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead," appeared in 2005, followed by "Fang Bang" (2006), "Skeletons" (2008), "Calling All Corpses" (2011), "The Dixie Dead" (2013), "Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague" (2015), "Condolences" (2017), "Necrophaze" (2019), and "Horrifier" (2022), recorded with a revolving lineup that bears his name on stage. Alongside Wednesday 13, he has occasionally explored a hard rock or dark country vein through projects such as Bourbon Crow and Gunfire 76, while remaining primarily identified with the international horror punk and metal scene.
