Ward Thomas
Formed by twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, Ward Thomas originates from Petersfield in Hampshire, southern England, and has developed since 2014 a country-pop sound informed by Americana, folk and tight vocal harmonies. The duo attracted attention with From Where We Stand in 2014 and established themselves on the British country scene through tours, appearances on BBC Introducing and a performance at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. With Cartwheels in 2016, Ward Thomas refined a broader sound—between acoustic pop, melodic choruses and storytelling from a British perspective; the album became the first by a British country project to reach number one on the UK albums chart. Subsequent releases confirmed this evolution with Restless Minds (2019), Invitation (2020) and Music in the Madness (2023), where Ward Thomas retain a country foundation while incorporating more contemporary pop. The duo have also played events such as C2C: Country to Country and Eurosonic, and collaborated with James Blunt on the track "Halfway" in 2020.
