Von Hertzen Brothers

Formed in Finland in the early 2000s around the brothers Kie, Mikko and Jonne von Hertzen, Von Hertzen Brothers sits within a rock register where hard rock, progressive rock and psychedelic accents cross, with more melodic passages that also borrow from folk and contemporary rock. Before this joint project, the three musicians had already circulated in the Finnish scene of the 1990s, notably within Don Huonot, Egotrippi, Lemonator, Cosmos Tango or as accompanists to other artists. Von Hertzen Brothers released Experience in 2001, then widened its format with Approach in 2006 and Love Remains the Same in 2008, developing a writing based on vocal harmonies, spacious guitars and more progressive song structures. The band's path continues with Stars Aligned in 2011, Nine Lives in 2013, New Day Rising in 2015, War Is Over in 2017, Red Alert in the Blue Forest in 2022 and In Murmuration in 2024. On stage, Von Hertzen Brothers has played in Finland but also in the United Kingdom and several European countries, in contexts ranging from rock venues to festivals, with a lineup that expanded over time around a drummer and keyboards.
